Nos bougies évoluent

Our candles evolve

All our candles are now made from coconut wax!

Fascinated by olfactory compositions and ignited by a desire to take people on a journey to another place, we ventured, more than a year ago, into the development of a line of natural candles.

The quest to create a natural scented candle is not an easy one. Each type of wax, whether animal, mineral or vegetable, brings its own challenges in terms of quality, efficiency and even in terms of ecological dimension. Which is why after much reflection and research we first turned to a vegetable soy wax.

In continuous improvement, we have recently redesigned our soy candles to further reduce our ecological impact. Non-toxic, 100% natural, non-GMO and biodegradable, we have chosen to replace soy with a quality coconut wax with a very low melting point, allowing for a slow, prolonged and clean burn.

Contrary to popular belief, coconut wax does not emanate any particular odour, allowing various scents to be mixed in without alteration. Thus, it offers a better adherence to fragrances, where soy can present some vagaries. Indeed, the olfactory rendering of soy wax is not always up to par, as it retains the fragrance with difficulty. One more reason why we switched to coconut wax.

Over the last few months, we have also developed the right techniques to work with coconut wax without having to mix it with other vegetable waxes. Objective achieved: all our scented candles are now made of 100% coco wax.

From the research of fragrances to the making of our candles, everything is handmade on site in our Montreal workshop. The choice of ingredients, the material and the packaging have even been thought to maximize the gestures of recovery and recycling.
