30 years devoted to instinct

Every year, Anne-Marie Chagnon opens the doors to her creative universe, sharing her inspirations, her artistic approach and her vision. But this year has a special resonance: the studio is celebrating thirty years of creation, experimentation and emotions shaped in matter. For the occasion, Anne-Marie opens up with sincerity about her journey, her quest for meaning and the flame that has always driven her :

The unique doesn’t interest me. It’s not my focus. Since 1995, my hands have shaped and brought to life my ideas of expressiveness and character through material. My intuition is my compass. What shapes it is everything I observe and feel when faced with the raw essence of life. Those countless details fuse in my mind like metal under fire, becoming my alloy, my lines, my paths within the infinite realm of possibilities. I am in a constant infusion of inspiration. I can even tell you that I have never faced a blank page. I have too much to share, and I create to speak. Every piece I craft carries a story. And they come alive in symbiosis with wax, flame, and scalpel. Hours spent inventing. Sculpting. Opening the ring, closing the ring, reopening the ring, shifting it, closing it again. I search. I search for the magic that pierces me, making everything else blur into insignificance. That is my focus. This symbiosis between what resides within me and what takes form in my hands. And until I find it, I start again.

People often ask me how I do it. I reply that I don’t know how not to do it. Every creation animates me—whether made of material or thought. That’s how thirty years have passed. And yet, I still feel like I’m experimenting with each new piece. And I love it that way. I sincerely believe this is what keeps me so animated when I embark on a new collection. I always start from scratch. I center myself. Question myself. Investigate and invest myself. I am like a child in front of a sheet of paper larger than her outstretched arms. And I dive in, confident. My eyes brimming with stars. Perpetually.

But all of this would remain confined within the walls of my workshop if it weren’t for all those who carry their stars by carrying mine. If it weren’t for my fabulous, dedicated team, without whom these pieces couldn’t even exist. If it weren’t also for you, dear retailers, who believed in me and continue to stand by me. You were my first connection to those remarkable and radiant women who assert themselves by adorning my gentle rebellions. A piece of jewelry is a way of naming oneself before others. Of speaking without words. Thank you for making me your voice. You all inspire me. You support me in countless ways, pushing me to surpass myself, to hold steady, to resist bending under the weight of reality, which at times challenges the muse’s singularity.

I am filled with gratitude toward each and every one of you who invites me to be part of your story. I wish I could sculpt my gratitude for you in a material made of joy and light. To return the favor. You, who honor me with your invaluable presence. But this time, all I have are words, and in the end, only one is needed—a small word, yet overflowing with meaning :
